A message to myself

While volunteering with hospice, I am witness to a lot of amazing wisdom shared by our patients in their last days. One day, I got curious about what messages I might have to share on my death bed. Thus, this passage. It's a great experience if you'd like to try it yourself :).

My dear, dear child. You don’t need to try so very hard. The universe is holding you, no need to worry. Try not to take yourself too seriously. It all works out so beautifully. It is hard to feel so deeply as you feel, but don’t stop. Keep opening to the heartache and the joy. You will find love, real love that makes you more alive than you ever imagined. It will not look like what you expect, but it will be more than enough. Try your best to remember that you are strong, beautiful, passionate, and wise. You forget often, I know! Don’t let anything darken your light and don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are any less than anyone else. Let your heart get broken many times; let the raw beauty and pain of human life remind you how precious it all is. You will get run over many times, but you will always find the joy within the pain. Let it all in. Try to love yourself and really see yourself. Trust and go for it, every minute.”
